Understand the system.
Keep the essentials.
I am Nguyễn Đình Thuyên. I care about systems that serve people on ordinary days and when things stop going to plan.
- 01
Context
Understand the people, constraints and purpose.
- 02
Structure
Map the essentials and the dependencies.
- 03
Build & check
Work in small, inspectable steps.
- 04
Leave a way back
Document, hand over and preserve recovery.
An experience that changed the question
After losing data, I realised that layers of protection were not enough when their recovery paths depended on one another. That experience brought my attention to structure, the boundaries of each part and the ability to return to work.
Designing for people who can make mistakes
I value tools that are understandable, changes that can be reviewed and documentation another person can follow. A system needs room for forgetfulness, haste and days when its user is not at their best.
From systems to everyday life
That perspective follows me into technology and operations at sea. Music and film photography offer another rhythm: slow down, observe, choose what to keep and leave room around it.
A good idea starts
