Đình Thuyên.

I work with systems, technology and operations. I look for clarity: what needs to stay, what can change and how to find a way back when something fails.

EXPERIENCE INTO PRACTICE

Built to hold up.
Room to be human.

Losing data made me reconsider how I built systems. The safeguards were there, but the recovery paths depended on one another. Since then, I start with a question: if one part disappears, what still gives me a way back?

RESILIENCE FIRST
The highest form of security is not making it impossible for anyone to open the door, but making sure I do not lock myself out.

From personal notes · 15 December 2025

One device lost. An anchor remains.

I treat devices as things that can fail or go missing. A way back needs an anchor outside that device, with instructions clear enough to follow under stress.

My question: with only what exists outside this device, where would I start?

A way back
  1. An independent anchor
  2. Recover the core
  3. Return to work
Explore the system

Four layers. Four priorities.

I separate the foundation for recovery, the core for operation and the parts that can be rebuilt. Choose a layer to explore its role.

An anchor for recovery.

Foundational identity and ownership need an independent recovery path. I keep this layer small, with few dependencies on services that may change.

Identity / ownership / anchor

The essentials for operation.

What makes daily work possible needs protection and a way to recover from outside. The only key should not be inside the box it opens.

Access / configuration / recovery

Infrastructure that can be rebuilt.

Domains, services and connections extend the system. I make dependencies and recovery paths clear so a failure here need not take down the foundation.

Infrastructure / dependencies / replacement

Tools I can let go of.

Applications and conveniences should make work easier. I keep the core and its data independent enough to change or leave a tool when it no longer fits.

Ways we can work together

From systems thinking to practical work.

I am interested in how different parts connect, and what keeps working when conditions change.

Systems & operations

Make the moving parts understandable.

Turn a technical problem into a clear picture: what connects to what, who uses it, what can fail and how to recover. The result should be useful after the conversation ends.

A useful outcome

Maps, checklists and maintainable tools.

PERSONAL NOTES · 15 DEC 2025

Good systems leave room for mistakes.

Losing data changed the question I asked. Alongside protecting access, I needed to know how I would return if several familiar anchors disappeared together.

MARITIME

A satellite link is only the beginning.

An Internet terminal answers one part of the problem. The onboard network decides how the connection reaches the people and equipment that need it.

CREATIVE

Make room for attention.

A frame and a piece of music both ask what to keep and what to leave out. More detail does not automatically make either one stronger.

FAQ

A few useful answers

What is the best way to start a conversation?

Send the context, what is difficult today, the outcome you want and any important timing. A clear description is more useful than a finished technical specification.

Where should maritime service requests go?

DUNCAN SYSTEM LLC handles the maritime Internet and onboard technology direction. Its website describes the service areas and the information useful for a first discussion.

Where can I find the creative work?

Diễn Viên Hiện Trên Biển is the separate space for music and film photography. This site connects that creative direction with my broader approach to systems and work.
